Agronomy and Veterinary Medicine Faculty

FAMV FAMV

The Agronomy and Veterinary medicine Faculty (FAMV) is one of the 11 establishments on the divided campus of the Haiti state University, which also owns branches in province.

FAMV has for mission to contribute promoting training in Haiti of a human, intellectual, scientifically and technical potential enough in view for the Haitian agricultural development. In other words, it must select among young people at the end of their secondary school, candidates who will be changed as agro-professional likely to promote the development of the Haitian agricultural sector. This mission is double on a academic and social side, but on the operational point of view, it has been shown by the triptych: Training, Research and Services.

Also we often say that FAMV missions are :

  • Changing holders of the Haitian baccalaureate who have selected into competent and devoted superior cadres about the agricultural sector cause.
  • Contributing to the promotion of the agricultural research in Haiti.
  • Contributing to the agricultural popularization in Haiti.

The FAMV objectives are simples and adapted to the local situation :

  • Selecting every years hundred of holders of the Haitian baccalaureate
  • Creating intellectual, material and logistical conditions favourable to the realisation of good agronomical education.
  • Making sure of the level, content and quality of trainings that young people receives.
  • Making them agents of agricultural development of Haiti.
  • Being attentive to problems within the agricultural sector.
  • Helping by appropriated research programmes propositions to find solutions to these problems.
  • Participating to the scientific knowledge and techniques diffusion in order to promote the agricultural sector of the country.
